AN INVESTMENT WITH AN ETERNAL REWARD

"Be not decieved, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth that
shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh
reap corruption: but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit
reap Life everlasting.[Gal6:7-8].

To every investment, be it material,
financial, intellectual, or even spiritual, there is always a return,
profit or dividend.

INVESTING IN THE FLESH
When we talk about the
flesh, we are referring to the bodily, earthly, material, physical and
carnal aspect of the human life. When we invest in food, clothing,
shelter, education and other necessities of life.
we are said to be
"
SOWING TO OUR FLESH
". Since we need to look good, healthy and have
some degree of comfort, we are expected to invest our time, money and
energy in order to achieve this.
In as much, as it is important to
invest in the flesh, it is imperative to know that God[the God of all
flesh] is more concerned on:

1. How the returns of these investments
affects our relationship with God and others.[the returns of our
bodily investments are good health, wealth, good education, among
others]. If these returns makes us backslide or arrogant, makes us
oppress others or reduce our commitment, then we've erred.

2. The kind
of investment, we are making in the flesh. We don't expect God to be
happy when we sow adultery, fornication, pornography, drunkuness and
smoking into our flesh(since all these kinds of investments bring
about the destruction of our body, which is God's temple). However, we
need to understand, that the returns, profit and dividends of our
investment in the flesh depreciates in value, becomes worthless and
vain as we draw close to eternity.
i.e The returns on the investment
we make in the flesh are susceptible to deterioratio, degeneration and
decline. They can't be reaped forever. They have no eternal or
heavenly value.

INVESTING IN THE SPIRIT
The Spirit in this context
refers to our Spiritual life. If there is any aspect of our lives,
that requires huge investment, it is our spiritual life. Unlike
physical or fleshly investment, the returns of our spiritual
investment are incorruptible and imperishable. We reap the dividends
of our spiritual investments here on earth and in eternity. We invest
into our spiritual life by firstly accepting Christ, as our Lord and
Saviour, afterwhich we feed ourselves with God's word from the bible,
sermons and christian books; consistent prayer, fasting and regular
fellowship with believers of like faith are other ways we can invest
into our spiritual life. There is even a greater eternal reward, when
we invest into the spiritual life others.

NOTE:
1. We become carnal
and sensual when our carnal investments outweighs our spiritual
investments.

2. There is no eternal reward for fleshly, carnal and
physical investment, no matter how great.
Therefore " LAY NOT UP FOR
YOURSELVES TREASURES UPON EARTH, WHERE MOTH AND RUST DOTH CORRUPT...
BUT LAY UP TREASURES IN HEAVEN, WHERE NEITHER MOTH NOR RUST DOTH
CORRUPT[Matt6:19-20] and " LET YOUR MODERATION BE KNOWN UNTO ALL MEN.
THE LORD IS AT HAND[Phil4:15]
