and a commission.
Every saved christian has an office,an assignment and an obligation
which should be their main pre-occupation. The ministry of every saved
saint can be found in 2cor5:18: 'And all things are of God,who hath
reconciled to Himself by Jesus Christ and hath given us the MINISTRY
OF RECONCILIATION'.
We are actually saved to save others. God, not only sent Jesus Christ
to reconcile us back to Him,but also,so that after we might have been
reconciled back to Him[God], we should also reconcile others back to
Him,by preaching the gospel to them.
This is our ministry, the ministry and assignment of saved
christians,which is widely referred to as 'THE GREAT COMMISSION'.
The Ministry of the Gospel[the Great Commission] was actually a charge
given to early Christians by our Lord Jesus Himself[matt28:19-20].
QUALIFICATION FOR THIS MINISTRY
We must be saved before undertaking this assignment, From 2cor.5:18,
we see that the ministry of reconciliation comes after personal
reconciliation with God[salvation].
Romans2:21-22 reads "...thou that preachest a man should not steal,
dost thou steal?. Thou that sayest a man should not commit
adultery,dost thou commit adultery?...".
It is imperative that we ourselves are saved,changed,converted and
transformed before we go about disseminating the gospel.
IT IS A PRIVILIEGE
'And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord,who has enabled me, for that He
counted me faithful,putting me into the ministry'[1timothy1:12].
These were the words of Apostle Paul,who was before an injurious, a
blasphemer and a persecutor[1tim1:13]. Inspite of his past, after
salvation, he was counted worthy to shoulder the work of the ministry.
If you've got grips with this ministry[The Ministry of
reconciliation],you must understand that you were privilieged to take
part in it.
You must not attribute any success that comes with this ministry to
your hardwork. When you remember who you used to be before you met
Christ you will understand that 'IT IS A PRIVILIEGE'.
MAKE FULL PROOF OF THY MINISTRY
'...do the works of an evangelist,make full proof of thy
ministry'[2timothy4 :5].
Apostle Paul asserted: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of
Christ:For it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that
believeth"[rom1:16].
Our Lord Jesus Christ stated: "...I must be about my Father's
business"[luke2:49].
A time came in Peter's life,when he got tired of the business of our
heavenly Father and he said: "I go a fishing"[John21:3],after which
the risen Christ asked him thrice: "Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou
me more than these?[John21:15] and He[Christ] charged him[Peter]
saying: "FEED MY SHEEP".
Dear friend are you saved, if yes have you plunged yourself into this
great ministry that immediately accompany your salvation, or are you
ashamed of the gospel- God's tool for the salvation of souls.
Perhaps you are so pre-occupied and encumbered with the cares of this
life, that you have little or no time to tell someone about Jesus.
Jesus is asking you today: " LOVEST ME MORE THAN THESE". Go about the
business of your heavenly Father and your eternal reward will know no
bounds. MAKE FULL PROOF OF YOUR MINISTRY!!!.
