It includes the use of hands, and objects like vibrators for sexual
stimulation. It is simply engaging in any activity that brings sexual
pleasure without the contribution of another partner.
Masturbation is filthy and sinful because:
1. IT IS A CLEAR INDICATION OF LUST AND INORDINATE AFFECTION
Lust is simply having strong sexual desire, while an inordinate
affection is an unrestrained feeling of likeness for something.
Masturbation is usually brought about by an unrestrained, unbridled
and uncontrolled immoral desire. You can't masturbate If your desires,
cravings, longings and thoughts are pure, holy and godly.
You masturbate because you are lewd, lascivious and libidinous. Can
someone who has these qualities be referred to as a child of God? No
of course, because If such a person(with all those qualities)
is presented with the chance to commit fornication or adultery, he/she
would do so.
A christain cannot be lascivious, libidinious, lewd and licentious,
because 'they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with
the(inordinate) affections and lust(Gal.5:24).
It is sinful, wordly and ungodly to have an iota of Lust in us as
christians(mtt.5:28, 1John2:16, Titus2:12).
2. IT IS AN UNCLEAN ACT
There is nothing actually pure or godly about masturbation, nothing,
absolutely nothing. It is an unclean, filthy, dirty, impure, lewd and
wanton act.
If you have ever been trapped in masturbation, how do you feel after
the act? Messed up of course, you feel unclean and dirty. You are
condemned right away in your heart. Your spirit immediately bears you
witness that you have sinned.
Masturbation therefore, as an unclean act is sinful because '...no
whoremonger, nor UNCLEAN person,...has any inheritance in the kingdom
of Christ and of God'(Eph.5:5)
'But fornication and all UNCLEANNESS...let it not be once named among
you, as become saints. For God has not called us to UNCLEANNESS but to
holiness'(Eph.5:3, 1Thes.4:7).
Are you struggling with masturbation? God has delivered many and He is
still doing the same.
Firstly, Acknowledge your sins, repent of it(regret and sincerely feel
sorrowful about it and make up your mind not to go back to it),
confess it, ask for forgiveness and believe in your heart that Jesus
died and rose to remit your sins. After this;
1. Go to God in prayers(and fasting, as the case may be) concerning this issue.
2. Keep off pornographic materials, movies and programs(either slight
or extreme ones) and avoid friends that crack filthy jokes. Also avoid
lustful-looking and stop listening to songs with vulgar words in them.
3. Make sure you are not idle(always fill your mind with the right
material, especially with God's word). An Idle mind, they say, is the
devil's workshop.
4. Whenever you are tempted to indulge in it(especially in the night),
stand up and get busy with something edifying(like the bible,
christian magazines and movies) until you eventually fall asleep.
As you constantly do all these, masturbation will eventually become a
thing of the past.
