RESIST THE SEEMING PLEASURES OF SIN

'By faith Moses, when he was COME TO YEARS, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin FOR A SEASON'[Heb11:24&25].

There is certainly a seeming pleasure in sin.
There is always an immediate and obvious gratification, enjoyment,
thrill, fun and satisfaction that any sinful act brings with it.

For Moses, staying back in Egypt would have afforded him a chance of
becoming a king.
For Joseph , cosenting to the offer of Potiphar's
wife, would have attracted some financial and material reward,
while for Paul, the Apostle, bribing Felix would have meant freedom.

Whenever we reject the promising offer of sin, we should not expect
the resultant outcome to be favourable.

For Moses, the rejection of
Egypt led to suffering,
For Joseph, the refusal of Potiphar's wife
offer led to imprisonment.
While for Paul, his refusal to bribe Felix,
made him to spend two more years in prison.

But should we yield to sin
because of what we stand to lose?. No, not at all, we shouldn't,
because the pleasures of sin 'ARE FOR A SEASON', and they carry with
them, grave consequences.

Adam and Eve lost the garden of Eden because
of sin,
Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because of sin,
God destroyed
the world, at the time of Noah, with flood because of sin(Gen6:17)

and even unrepentant sinners, in this present world, would also be
punished in hell and also in the lake of fire.(Rev21:8).

On the other
hand, there is always a present and eternal reward for those who say
'NO' to sin.(Luke18:29-30). We all know how it ended with Moses, Joseph and Apostle Paul. They never regretted, standing on the Lord's side.

It takes spiritual maturity,
resilience,total consecration/committment, and prioritization of
spiritual virtues over earthly gain, to say ' NO' to sin, even when it
means losing something of great value.
