DO YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE?

When we talk about Eternal Life,we are talking about an endless, everlasting, enduring and immortal Life, that starts from here and continues in heaven. When someone loses the eternal life in him, we say 'HE IS DEAD'.

Adam and Eve had eternal Life(everlasting Life) in them until they ate the forbidden fruit. After they had eaten it, they did not die literally(gave up the ghost).

They were still living, but dead, they still had the breath of life but they no longer had that everlasting life. They lost the eternal life in them, hence became dead(separated and disconnected from God)

This eventually became the lot of everyone that would be born thereafter (Rom5:12).thus making mankind to inherit death. '...and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned :' (this death would become eternal, if eventually one dies without Christ)

But thanks be to God who "GAVE US HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH (DIE, HAVE A LIMITED AND PERISHABLE LIFE) BUT HAVE EVERLASTING (ETERNAL AND ENDLESS) LIFE [John3:16].

Jesus Christ, referring to his disciples said "And I give unto them eternal(an endless) Life and they shall never perish(die)" [John10:28]. It is by believing and accepting Jesus that we recieve this eternal Life because "this (eternal) life is in his son (Jesus) [1 John5: 11].

If after accepting Christ, you go back to your sins, you will lose the eternal life you've got, because "no murderer (as well as any other sinner) hath eternal Life abiding in him [1 John3:15]. You can get it back by confessing and repenting of your sins.

Eternal life reigns in heaven, while eternal death reigns in hell and in the lake of fire.

If a sinner continues with his/her inherited death, without accepting Christ, or goes back to sin, after accepting Christ, and eventually finds himself/herself in hell, they will forever have that inherited death in them while in hell.

While in hell, the death in them would become eternal death,since there would be no more hope to get eternal life.

While those who have recieved Christ and kept the faith till they get to heaven, will forever have that life in them(eternal life), since there would be no object of temptation that can take that Life away anymore.

Christ died and resurrected and went to heaven because He had eternal Life in him. It is only those who have eternal Life abiding in them, that would resurrect to be with him in heaven .
