subconscious of humans. It is the non-physical part of a person.
It is the seat, hub, and headquaters of emotions, feelings,cravings,
passions, desires, thoughts and imaginations.
Jesus used the words, 'heart', 'soul', and 'mind' when referring to
our inner being/ the non-physical part of us:
'Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your
HEART and with all your SOUL and with all your MIND'[Matthew22:37].
THE SOUL: A MAJOR DETERMINANT
Our soul, is the most significant part of us. It is influential,
dominant and pivoltal. It is also underlying, fundamental and key.
This is because, the disposition and make up of the soul determines
our actions, conduct, behaviour and lifestyle.
People lie, cheat, steal, fornicate, masturbate, blaspheme, and dress
indecently because there was a desire, craving and appetite for it,
somewhere in their soul/mind.
Our Lord Jesus proclaimed: 'For from inside,out of the heart[out of
the soul,the innerman, the mind] of men,proceed evil
thoughts,adulteries,fornications,murder,theft,coveteousness,wickedness,deciet,lasciviousness,an
evil eye,blasphemy,pride,foolishness. All these evil come from
inside(from the soul) and defile the man'[mark7:21-23].
If we must overcome sin, then we must pay attention to what goes into our soul.
Our Lord Jesus,pointed out to us that sin starts from within,from the
soul, in form of filthy thoughts and imaginations when He said:
'...whosoever,looks on a woman to lust after her has committed
adultery with her already in his heart'[matt.5:28].
Sin starts from the soul(whenever filthy thought are entertained and
developed) before it manifest outwardly.
It is the state of one's soul/innerman that makes them who they are.
She is a fornicator/he is a thief and a liar, because their souls are
unsaved,unregenerated and filthy (as a result of the filthy desires
and thought lying within).
It takes someone, with a regenerated,righteous and holy soul to churn
out good deeds. You can't give(express) what you don't have(in you).
"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart[out of the good
thoughts and desires in his innerman/soul] brings forth good
things[sinful deeds]: and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his
heart,brings forth evil things[sinfull deeds]"[matt.12:35].
SAFEGUARD YOUR PRECIOUS SOUL
We jealously secure and safeguard our valuables, after acquiring them,
for the sake of longevity.
There is no material/earthly possession, that is as valuable as our
never-dying soul,since this soul, unlike material possessions, is
imperishible and incorruptibile.
It lives forever, It survives when all our wealth, possessions, and
our mortal body are no more[Nothing on this earth has such quality].
'For what is a man profited, If he shall gain the world, and lose his
soul?,or what shall a man give in exchange of his soul?[matt.16:26].
Your soul is irreplaceable. It is your most treasured asset, therefore
you have to secure it from eternal damnation in hell, because it
either proceed to heaven or hell immediately we die[Acts 2:27, Rev.
6:9, Rev.20:14].
Apostle Peter admonished us to attach more importance to 'the hidden
man of the heart...which is not corruptible' than to our outward
man,which is perishable.[1Peter3:4]. You save your soul from eternal
damnation by:
1.Believing in your heart that Jesus died and rose to remit your
sins[Romans10:9], thereby admitting,repenting,confessing and forsaking
your sins and inviting Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour.
2.'keeping(guardiing) your heart(innerman/soul) [from filthy
thoughts,desires,imaginations and cravings]with all diligence;for out
of it are the issues of life.[Proverbs4:23].
3.Asking God in consistent, heartfelt prayers to 'create in 'you' a
clean heart(innerman/soul),...and renew a right spirit(a godly soul)
within 'you'[Psalms51:10].
4.Also, in sincere consistent prayers, asking God to put his
Laws,commandments and instructions in your 'inward part'(in your soul)
as He promised[Jeremiah31:33, Hebrews10:16] so that your
actions,behaviour and lifestyle will portray holiness in all
ramifications.
Faithful is He that calls you, who also will do it.[1Thessalonians5:24]
